Dermal Fillers

As we age our skin changes. We start to see fine lines around our lips, and increased jowls from the volume loss in our cheeks and folds around our nose and mouth. Dermal fillers are commonly used to replace the volume we lose as we age. Placing dermal filler in the areas such as the face and hands help to turn back the clock quickly and subtly. Your Vein Institute and Medi Spa professional can help you decide which dermal filler best meets your needs.

Sculptra®

Sculptra is not an overnight miracle and not a quick-fix. It is the first facial injectable that gives you subtle results over time replacing your body’s lost collagen giving you a more natural-looking appearance. A full treatment of Sculptra, an average of three injection sessions over a few months, can last more than two years. Sculptra is FDA approved in the United States and has been used worldwide since 1999.

Sculptra targets the underlying causes of the signs of facial aging. It begins to work within the deep dermis, where your skin’s structure is reinforced as it helps to replace lost collagen. This reinforced collagen structure provides a foundation that gradually restores the look of fullness of your shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds that have depleted over time. Sculptra is different from other fillers because it gradually and subtly corrects these facial wrinkles and folds.

Sculptra is used to correct shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds which are treated with the appropriate injection technique. Sculptra is suitable for: deep folds between the nose and the mouth, also called smile lines, the lines framing your mouth or marionette lines and chin wrinkles.

Radiesse

Take years off your appearance with Radiesse, an FDA approved facial contouring filler. Radiesse delivers immediate, natural looking results. Clinical studies prove that Radiesse lasts longer than former leading fillers, up to a year or more!

Over time we lose fat in our faces, especially in our cheeks, causing folds to appear and our jawline to sag. Radiesse adds volume to the cheeks as well as traditional areas such as smile lines at the corners of the mouth. Unlike other dermal fillers, Radiesse works with your body to stimulate new collagen growth and regenerate tissue, helping to restore what time has taken away. Radiesse can also be used in the hands to restore volume lost with age.

Juvederm

Juvederm is an injectable gel that, once injected into the skin, immediately adds volume to the area being treated. This FDA approved filler provides a smooth, natural look and feel to your refreshed face. Juvederm injections will last six months to one year. Juvederm is an excellent treatment option for deep folds, lip enhancement, facial lines and shaping facial contours. Similar to one of the body’s own natural substances (hyaluronic acid), Juvederm injections last six months to one year. Juvederm is an excellent treatment option for deep folds, lip enhancement, facial lines and shaping facial contours.

Juvederm is offered in two formulations: Juvederm® Ultra XC, for areas where subtle volume enhancement is required (such as vertical lip lines), and Juvederm® Ultra Plus XC, for correction of severely deep folds and wrinkles (such as nasolabial folds, enhancing lip volume and for reshaping cheek contours). These formulations include a specialized numbing agent already built-in. This means that your injection experience will be that much more comfortable.

Juvederm Voluma™

Juvederm Voluma™ XC injectable gel is the first and only filler FDA-approved to instantly add volume to the cheek area. It gives you a subtle lift, helping to restore contour and a more youthful profile, for up to two years, in patients over the age of 21. It’s different than Juvederm® XC and works on a different area of the face. Juvederm® XC smoothes out moderate to severe wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth, like parentheses. Juvederm Voluma™ XC, however, adds volume to the cheek area.

Restylane

Restylane® is the world’s best-selling dermal filler and the first hyaluronic acid filler approved by the FDA. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the skin that helps provide fullness and elasticity. Over time skin loses hyaluronic acid, leading to loss of skin volume and the appearance of wrinkles, folds and fine lines. The Restylane family of products also features Perlane, a popular dermal filler for the treatment of more dramatic volume loss.

This safe, long lasting, natural cosmetic filler is used for the reduction of facial wrinkles, such as the lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth.  Other common uses of Restylane include lip enhancement, reduction of lines around the mouth and facial contouring of the cheeks. Restylane is uniquely effective in the treatment of the hollows under the eyes. Placing Restylane in the tear troughs creates a brighter, more awake and rejuvenated appearance. This also reduces the appearance of dark circles.

Restylane and Perlane dermal fillers now feature a built-in numbing agent to ensure a comfortable treatment.
