Today’s Question: One of my New Year’s resolutions is to get rid of this stubborn pooch on my stomach. I’ve tried diet and exercise to no avail. Are there any permanent non-surgical solutions? Melissa, Warsaw
Melissa, you’re not alone with the millions who make New Year’s resolutions each year especially relating to losing weight and getting healthy. There is a non-surgical solution to losing those troublesome pockets of fat known as lipodissolve.
This procedure has been available in Europe for more than 12 years. Lipodissolve has a high safety record. Keep in mind, Melissa, that lipodissolve is not a diet or designed for those people with a large amount of weight to lose. Lipodissolve is an excellent solution for select areas of fat that are particularly hard or impossible to lose with diet or exercise. It is a great way to contour the body you have.
Lipodissolve is a non-surgical series of injections with a very small needle using a prescription medication into targeted areas of fat. The medication breaks down the outer wall of fat cells causing the cells to break apart. The body then excretes the residue and waste. The process of lipodissolve essentially removes existing fat cells reducing fat in the targeted area that is being treated. Usually, there will be a series of five to six treatments spaced at least two weeks apart. Areas that can be treated include: abdomen, thighs, love handles, back, neck/chin, jowls, arms, above or below the bra line, waist and buttocks.
Unlike liposuction, there is no need for incisions or anesthesia. Most clients experience only minor discomfort with the treatment. Many even have the procedure performed over their lunch hour. The results from the treatment are permanent as long as you do not gain more than 10 pounds.
Not everyone is a candidate for this procedure, so it’s important to talk to your medical aesthetics provider to find out if this treatment is a good option for you. If so, your New Year’s resolutions will be easy to stick to and have you ready for swimsuit season!
